Eva Hesse 1965
This is a beautiful book. Who would we be without Eva Hesse? Unapologetic large images capture a pivotal period in the artist's brief life when she worked in a studio residency in Kettwig an der Ruhr, Germany, in a textile factory filled with old machine parts and bits of rope, wire and other industrial debris. The result was an explosion of texture, weird sublime physicality and body references that shocked and delighted the world. Ladies first.
