Shop policies


St. Lightning offers a simple $12 flat shipping rate and free USPS Priority Mail shipping on all orders over $200.

All orders are shipped via USPS on business days (Monday to Friday) excluding holidays. Your items will typically be packed and shipped the next business day after placing your order, but may take up to 3 days to process (especially during busy times such as the winter holidays). Priority Mail takes 1-3 business days to ship after processing. We'll be sure to email you a tracking number so that you may follow the progress of your package.


The Finer Points:

  • If your item arrives broken or damaged, please notify us by phone or email within 48 hours so we may file a claim with the carrier.
  • St. Lightning is not responsible for delays in shipping or delivery due to natural causes or other uncontrollable events.
  • We offer the option to require a signature, which ensures you receive your package personally, or to deliver with no signature.  By selecting the option to deliver with no signature, you are accepting responsibility for the package once it has been delivered by the carrier.

Once your credit card is authorized, you will receive a confirmation email from us. We are unable to ship to PO Box and military addresses through our website at this time.  If you have a PO box or military address, please feel free to email us at and we will make our best effort to take care of you using an alternate shipping method. St. Lightning is unable to ship international orders at this time. Please look forward to us adding this service in Spring 2017!



We want you to be happy with your St. Lightning purchase! All full-price merchandise in unused, unworn condition with the original labels and tags attached may be returned within 14 days for store credit or a refund, minus the cost of outgoing and return shipping.  


  • Sale merchandise not marked Final Sale may be exchanged within 14 days for store credit. Clearance items discounted 50% or more are always marked Final Sale and may not be returned.
  • Clearance items, apothecary, swimwear, and lingerie are marked Final Sale. No exchanges or returns will be accepted.
  • St. Lightning reserves the right to refuse returned items that do not adhere to our return policy.
  • Customer is responsible for return shipping costs.  Please ensure that your order information is enclosed in or marked on the box so we may properly credit your account.
  • Online orders may be returned or exchanged in-store


Returns are processed within 48 hours of receipt. Refunds to credit cards are processed by the bank within 1-7 days after we receive the merchandise, and we’ll send you a confirmation email once complete.



Thanks for visiting us at St. Lightning in San Francisco!  We are happy to exchange full-price, in-store purchases for a store credit within 14 days of purchase.  We are a very small potato, so we are not able to offer refunds or price adjustments for merchandise purchased at our brick and mortar shop unless the merchandise is faulty.  Returned items must be in unworn, unused condition with all original tags and labels attached.


  • ALL SALE/DISCOUNTED MERCHANDISE, Vintage items, Apothecary, Swimwear and Lingerie are FINAL SALE.
  • In-store purchases must also be returned in-store.


If your purchase is a gift, we will happily provide a gift receipt for you to enclose so the recipient may exchange their item if necessary. During popular holiday times, we extend our exchange policy to allow for chill and happy gift giving.
